Solve For Happy
As a graduation present after grad school in 2017, my mom gave me Solve For Happy to read. I think my mom knew grad school really took a toll on my soul and that I was going to have an even greater battle trying to figure out my life afterwards. Either way, I shelved the book until this year.
Mo Gawdat, the author and former Chief Business Officer at Google’s [X], uses his background in engineering for a more analytical approach to happiness and ultimately shares an equation for happiness. Through his own suffering of losing a son, further research, and different philosophical stories, as a framework, Gawdat identifies the six grand illusions of life, our seven blind spots, and five ultimate truths.
All and all, I think this book was most definitely worth the read and have a lot of insightful information! There were some parts of the book that didn’t really have my full attention but I would be lying if I said it didn’t have any valuable information. You could easily skip chapter that don’t really apply to you and still gain a new perspective on happiness!
